In 2006, the Lewis Center issued statistics documenting a significant decline United Methodist clergy under the age of 35. The Lewis Center is at the forefront of efforts to reverse this disturbing trend.

Working with the probationary process in the United Methodist Church , the Lewis Center has developed expertise on what new clergy need to develop and grow. The center also provides programs of peer learning and support for outstanding young clergy and special events that bring together, support, and encourage the emerging generation of pastoral leaders.
